Join us as we honor the service and sacrifice of our veterans with 500 American flags on Brownsburg Town Hall Green.

Flag Dedications
Flag dedications will open on June 23, 2026.
- Who benefits from this fundraiser?

Proceeds from the Field of Honor program will benefit the Brownsburg American Legion Colonel Billie J. Holmes Memorial Post 331 scholarship fund, which provides college financial assistance to children of veterans.
- Where will the flags be displayed?

The Field of Honor will feature 500 flags on Town Hall Green, 61 N. Green St. from October 29-November 11. Visitors are welcome to visit the Brownsburg Field of Honor at anytime while the flags are displayed.
- Will I get to keep my flag?

Yes, you may pick up your flag starting Monday, November 16 at Brownsburg Town Hall, 61 N. Green St., from 8-4:30 p.m. We will also be providing a printed certificate for each flag purchased.
- What if I don’t want to pick up my flag?

Unclaimed flags will be donated into the following year's Field of Honor program.
- Once I purchase a flag, can I reuse it for future years of the program?

No, flags will not be reused once they have flown in the Brownsburg Field of Honor.
Because the Brownsburg Field of Honor is a fundraiser for a local veteran organization, you will need to purchase a new dedication the next year if you want to continue to participate in the program.
- How much does it cost to dedicate a flag?

A flag dedication costs $50 per flag.
Dedications will be recognized with signage at the Field of Honor in November, a tag on the individual flag, in the program guide, and during the Field of Honor ceremony on November 8. Proceeds from flag sales will benefit the American Legion Colonel Billie J. Holmes Memorial Post 331 scholarship fund.
- What is the deadline to purchase a flag?

Flag sales will be open from June 23-September 30. After that, no additional flags will be sold due to the time for printing materials and administrative work like determining the fundraiser donation.
- Are the flags American-made?

Yes, the flags come from the Colonial Flag Foundation and are made in America.
- Can I purchase more than one flag?

Yes, you can purchase more than one flag in the Brownsburg Field of Honor.
Please make sure to note in the comment section each flag dedication.
- Can businesses dedicate flags, or is it only for individuals?

Yes, businesses and individuals can dedicate a flag in the Brownsburg Field of Honor.
In the comment section, be sure to put who the dedication is from so the purchaser's name is not used for the flag tag.

Brownsburg Field of Honor flags can be dedicated to veterans or active military.
- How will my dedication be recognized?

- Do you need volunteers?

Yes! We will need volunteers to help set-up and tear-down the Field of Honor, as well as help with the Field of Honor ceremony. Opportunities are available online.
Support the Event
Sponsor the 2026 Brownsburg Field of Honor program
Brownsburg Parks takes the safety and welfare of all participants and employees seriously. This policy is designed to give guidance to employees, parents, and registered participants in situations where an activity may need to be canceled. Employees may use their best judgment in certain situations and some determinations/cancellations may be made at a facility, program, or event.
Time Frame for Cancellations:
- Morning Activity: determined by 7:30 am
- Afternoon/Evening Activity: determined by 4 pm
- Special Events: determined three hours prior to start
All registered participants will receive an email within 15 minutes of the decision to cancel the activity. Cancellation information also will be posted on Brownsburg Parks/Town of Brownsburg Facebook pages.
Severe Weather Policy
Programs, special events, and other activities may be canceled and facilities closed under the conditions outlined below:
- Extreme Cold Weather Conditions. Cold weather reported or forecasted to be 25 degrees or below OR any
- combination of wind and temperature that is 25 degrees or will warrant outdoor program cancellation.
- Icy Weather Conditions will lead to cancellations: When the National Weather Service has issued a travel warning; When road visibility is severely limited; and When partner facilities are not available due to closure. (Example - school closure ).
- Snow Fall Conditions/Blizzard will lead to cancellations: When the National Weather Service has issued a travel warning; When road visibility is severely limited; and When partner facilities are not available due to closure. (Example -school closure ).
- Extreme Heat Weather Conditions. When heat and humidity are such that participants engaged in vigorous activities for prolonged periods could become over-heated and continued activity becomes dangerous programs may be cancelled.
Follow the guidelines below for specific weather conditions. - Heat Index. When the heat index (combination of temperature and relative humidity) reaches 105 or greater.
The Town of Brownsburg routinely takes photos and videos of participants for promotional purposes. Be aware that by participating, you are granting the Town the right to use and publish your image or your minor child’s image.
