Interstate Crime Enforcement

The Interstate Crime Enforcement team is comprised of specially trained Patrol Officers assigned to work traffic enforcement on I-74.  The primary purpose of the I.C.E. team is to stop criminals in transit on our interstate.  Officers in this unit are trained to recognize indicators of a driver who is involved in criminal activity at the time of the traffic stop.    Crimes include trafficking of narcotics and money, stolen goods, stolen vehicles, wanted fugitives, and other felonious crimes.  The I.C.E. team to date is responsible for the seizure of over $100,000.00 of suspected drug money, large amount of narcotics, recovery of several stolen vehicles and several firearms.  The I.C.E. Team was established in January of 2006.
